Burnout and Compassion Fatigue in a Pandemic: Steps Toward Resilience

May 25, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This is a joint program with both funders and nonprofits participating.

Program Description:

This interactive two-hour workshop unpacks the effects of the pandemic on our work lives and personal wellness. You will learn the signs of compassion fatigue and burnout, and build self-awareness through reflective exercises. We will discuss effective resilience strategies including immediate and long-term action steps. During the workshop you will develop a personal plan for your next steps toward resilience.

A key component of this workshop is the opportunity to hear from others in your field. Normalizing compassion fatigue and burnout reminds us that we are not alone. We will create safe and anonymous spaces to share our experiences, reflecting on both the challenges and rewards of our work this past year. Throughout our time together you will build connections with others and develop a greater understanding of fatigue effects on teams and institutions.

This workshop is appropriate for anyone seeking to understand burnout, compassion fatigue, and resilience. Participants will be encouraged, but not forced, to share their experiences from the past year.
